Arizona Kind of a Birthday Present

Last weekend we celebrated Joe’s birthday, we had a lovely time in the cold and rainy White Mountains of Arizona.

I don’t have time right now to tell you about this trip but I must show off the knitted presents I made for my sweet heart:

Aren\'t they just amazing?

It’s a ninja ski set: a cowl and a hat knitted in the very lovely Handmaiden Casbah Sock yarn:My blue eyed ninjah

Although it was only morning, we were at home in Arizona (let’s say 90F give or take). Isn’t he a darling to model it just for you?

My love, too warm,,,,

I think it was a bit too hot, my poor darling!

I used Cocoknits’ Inside-Out Cowl pattern I found on Ravelry and I knitted the hat from my head.

Oh and I also finished a pair of socks for him that were on the needles since his last birthday I am afraid,,,

Hand knitted socks in Kaffe Fassett yarn

I used Mirage Earth #4254 from the Regia Kaffe Fassett line.

And now if you will excuse me I must run, I am going to Israel for a month this Friday,,,

Long Monkey

a long monkey headband

While playing with the photos of my Monkeys set in photoshop, I created this loooong photo that entertain me to no end (call me stupid, it’s ok) so I decided to share it with you.

It is a closeup on the headband I knitted with the leftover yarn from my Crazy Monkies.  I took the idea from MintyFresh Lace Headband in Ravelry and used the stitch pattern of the monkey socks instead. I also knitted it in 2 halves and kitchener them to get the pattern going up the head on both sides!

Here is the set all ready to go to Israel on August 1. Yes, I am going with it.

Poor Little Thing

I started a new project, I got a good excuse, I need a present (I will, eventually,,,) It is another of Anne’s Little NothingsBrambler who called my name and insisted I will try it out before others that I thought I want to knit. Who am I to refuse a call from such a lovely pattern, right?

Brambler - My latest Knitting Project

I am knitting it in Alpaca & Silk yarn of Blue Sky Alpaca in the color Ice. It is a leftover yarn from my stash, I am so good! The scarf is not as long as it looks in this photo, just about 32″, I can’t make up my mind if to knit it longer than the suggested length in the pattern, I think I will.

I am also working on my second BSJ in the Bearfoot yarn of Mountain Colors, it is not very photogenic right now.

And my last photo is of another rescuee but although we are not sure, it looks like this one was not very lucky :(

Poor Little Thing

Two nights ago I suddenly noticed something fluffy walking along the step in our living room, I immediately summoned my hero and he took this little thing and put it somewhere soft outside but we don’t think it had many chances to survive. We don’t know how it came into the house, the wicked Saki was nowhere to be seen, but my guess is that he brought it in.

How do you make it clear to a cat that you really DON’T LIKE such presents?!?
