Visitors

I am back.
I am sick, bad cold, yikhes!

Since my return, we had all sorts of visitors to our backyard:

Snow, How I love thee !

Snow, how I love thee !

Joe managed to get quite a few good photos of another visitor:

Yes, it's a fox, isn't he elegant?

Joe’s new pets are visiting on a regular basis:

Nuthatcehs enjoy the feeder too.

and nothing is wasted in this weather, no sir:

After trying and trying the squirrels settled down to enjoying the drop offs

After trying and trying, the squirrels had to settle down to the bird feeders' drop offs

I do still knit, more details when I will find the energy.

The Leaves That Were

A lesson I learned this passing foliage season: grab it now as it will not be here tomorrow.  So this year I will concentrate on the pleasure of the fields of leaves instead:

I so enjoy walking in the leaves

I enjoy so much walking in the leaves

So nice, waling in all those leaves

Pretending not to play with them

They make this lovely cruncing noise

Or enjoy the lovely crunchy noise they make

The dry leaves swirl so nicely

Those dry leaves swirl so nicely

You better be careful on those leafy slopes

And some of them end up in lovely places

And some of the leaves end up in lovely places

And some of them end up in lovely places

I find the bare trees striking

A few red things decorating the yellow rug scenery

And we managed to find a few red things still decorating the yellow rug scenery

Testing with an Eye Candy

In order to test the new version of WordPress I chose some photos Joe took during our morning walk in the near by ravine a few weeks ago:

Lovely little flowers

The ravine was full of flowers and living things:

Look at all those creatures!

Look at all those creatures!

Now the foliage is almost over and everything is full of fallen leaves but you can still find beautiful trees in all shades of yellow, orange and amazing reds!
I never knew there are so many shades of yellow!

I especially like a small tree with the most amazing red leaves that is very abundant around here. I like its color in all seasons but now it is at its best, I want yarn in this exact color to knit myself a cardigan, I think it is a type of red maple. Unfortunately yesterday when the sun came for a short visit, we forgot to take the camera with us, I hope I will get another chance before those beauties loose all their leaves!
