For Dave

Oh and yesterday I forgot to include those:

AWF taken on a Sunday

and even better:

A in full view decorated with a red beauty

It is my modest contribution to Dave Daniels AWW. So what if it is not a Wednesday post and quite a bit too late? I like doing things my own way,
I always did :)

And if we talk about Dave, here is Saki sending A Have a Nice Weekend
wish to Ms. Lulu:

Nikon Saki

and to all of you too, of course!

Red

OK. I was good! I finished the socks and they are on their way to Israel and now I can knit my softie without too many scruples (what are a few UFO’s between friends?)

Last Sunday we went on a day mission to find signs of cold weather; we drove to Payson and from there to Flagstaff, the temperatures dropped nicely and it was cold alright but oh so dry! no sign of recent rain anyway and here in Arizona, you can tell, even the forest up in the mountains looks dry and sad.

But my love doesn’t give up easily and on a little dirt road he found a very small and very frozen pond, he was so happy:

I took the opportunity and asked Joe to take some photos of my recent findings in Israel: Do you see those red things? I fell in love with the hand bag the minute I walked into the Kisim (pockets in Hebrew) shop in Tel Aviv and the bag on display was brown no less! I don’t like brown, I never wear brown, but the bag called my name anyway! I am sure you can imagine how glad I was when the girl working in the shop opened a drawer full of bags like this one in many different colors, I did not have any problem choosing mine! The girl told me I can put my things in the bag to see how it will look and I replied: it is ok I don’t need to put anything in it, I see how it will look! so you probably understood I couldn’t leave it there. You want to see more of it? I know Anne does, so here you go:

Another look on my red beauty!

and another view:

Red Hand Bag

I had to find matching shoes and when I couldn’t I just ordered a pair, it is good that my sister now lives in Jaffa and there you can order shoes in many little shops. They are almost the same color, aren’t they:

So as you can see, although a girl can’t find decent yarn in Israel (I am picky what can I say) she can sure find nice leather goodies, isn’t it right?

The Softie that Sneaked on Me

Recently I was so good (even if I say so myself). I hardly bought any yarn (what are a few skeins of Koigu here or there?) and I was finishing UFOs, not starting new projects and and,,, I was just good.

For the last 2 weeks I was knitting diligently on this pair of socks:

So Many Colours

They are a present for my nephew’s girlfriend, the birthday is approaching rapidly and she is in Israel, so I was knitting them and them only.
(Hmmm,,, I don’t think I knitted too much during this time, I was busy flying around the world and falling asleep in all sorts of weird hours, jet lag you know).

That is, until yesterday, when from a reason unbeknown to me I suddenly remembered a softie I bought in Romni of Toronto (a knitter ultimate wonderland!) last March. Before I knew any better it was out, a skein was balled with the help of my love and before I went to bed, about 4 hours later, 12″ and some of this beauty were on my needle:

The Softest Scarf Ever

The yarn is Peter Rabbit of Fleece Artist – a very luxurious mix of 70% Angora, 20% Nylon and 10% Wool – I spotted it right when I entered the kingdom of Romni and couldn’t resist it although I tried and even though it is not very useful in Arizona (aren’t I lucky the wicked one decided to go study in Vermont?).

The pattern is: Hypoteneuse Scarf by Anne Hanson – such a delightful pattern,
I am totally in love, it is easy to knit and the result is stunning and from both sides too, a real treat I tell you!

I can’t leave you with only one photo of this beauty so here are some more:

Detail of my Hypoteneuse Scarf

Oh and I must tell you, this pattern is perfect for scarves, both sides are identical, so beautiful:

Squishy Softie

Even Saki likes it, or does he try to help me knit it?

Saki and my Hypoteneuse

I better hide it well, don’t you agree?

But tonight I am going to be good, tonight I will knit the sock! ,,, Maybe,,,,
