Ontario Irresistible Products

Yesterday we went apple picking:

Hmmm,,, so yummy!

Hmmm,,, so yummy!

And after filling the bag and having as many apples as we can possibly need, I realised those beauties:

Just irresistible, I just couldn't leave this one on the tree

Is this the perfect one?

Is this the perfect one?

are as irresistible as some other Ontario product we all know and love:

Oh Koigu how much I love thee!

So now I have an apple stash almost as big as my yarn stash!

Please send any good apple recipe you think is worthy of these beauties, thank you.

And if you want to see what those apples made me do, you can find more photos on my flickr page.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cuffs and Jazz and Other Projects

As promised, here are photos of the cuffs of my TTL mystery socks 2009:

I finished both cuffs yesterday, the colour is off!

The weather is not very cooperative and the gray makes it impossible to catch the real colour of those cuffs, the colour in real life is much richer and to the turquoise.

The detail of the cuff is interesting, I wonder how Kirsten continued this sock

I also wanted to show you my finished Shawl that Jazz but those photos came out really bad. Do you want to see it anyway to be entertained by the horrible photo of myself I bravely put on the internets?

Here you go:

My colours are much nicer in real life, I swear (the shawl not mine, silly!)

This thing is big even before I gave it its due bubbly bath, and judging by the weather, it will be used heavily around here.

I keep asking Joe if it is winter yet and he keeps claiming that no, this is fall!

This made me realise something very important:

I was wrong all these years thinking that my Israel is missing the fall! Apparently what is missing there is the winter as what is out here these days is a very typical good Israeli winter (alas, my little country didn’t have one of those for too many years in a row which is the reason of the very serious water problem they are now facing).

And now I better go finish my hat (Quincy) and knit on my cardigan – I am trying something a bit crazy with the cardigan, I will know in a few days (I hope) if it will work or not and then I will tell.

TTL Mystery Sock 2009 – Introduction

As I am in dire need of sweaters, cardigans or in more general terms, really warm clothes, I was not sure I will join Kirsten’s Mystery Sock ’09 fun, but after I found in my stash  the Tanis Peacock yarn:

Hmmm,,, the colours,,,, some of them are hiding in this photo...

that meets the requirement of semi solid sock yarn, and after I swatched last night and got the required gauge, and afer seeing the first clue last nigh, I decided I am in.

Are any of you knitting this sock with us too?

Oh and about that photo, when you rewind a yarn cake pulling the yarn from the center, you get to a stage where the old cake is really thin but it’s still standing, did you ever notice it? It really amazes me every time I am lucky enough to see it,  so today I decided to try and take a photo of it, not very successfully as you can surely see.

And while downloading the yarn photos from the camera I found this photo of Saki and couldn’t resist showing it too:

Aint Saki just adorable?

Ain't he just adorable?

And  now if you will excuse me, I have a clue x 2 to knit.
